Jessica
Centre Director
Jess is the face of Little Explorers Academy and our first point of contact for our families, children, and team. Jessica has the passion to work with and care for children and possess excellent leadership skills.
“I believe that here at LEA we provide each child with love, guidance, and a positive environment. We empower them to reach their full potential, ensuring they have the opportunity to grow up in an atmosphere of happiness, safety, security, and unwavering support.”
Jessica is working towards her qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care. She started her career volunteering in schools to support children’s learning and is now the Centre Director at LEA.
Jessica is also a positive role model for coaching and mentoring her team members whilst they support their children’s learning journey here at LEA. She also ensures the centre meets the National Quality Standards. Jessica ensures that she relays professional and timely communication between the educators and families, providing high quality educational programs, in meeting the regulation, and focuses mainly on the wellbeing of the children and staff here at LEA. She works one to one with the educators in her team in achieving planning and implementing experiences to support children’s goals.
Melissa
Admin
Melissa is the Admin at Little Explorers Academy and works alongside Jessica. She is also the first point of contact for the families, staff and children and easily approachable.
“I believe that our families are the core of our centre and its operations. I always thrive on providing a holistic learning experience and an environment that is always a reflection of those who engage with us.”
Melissa is working towards her qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care. She started her career in fashion after school. She also possesses passion in working with and caring for little people.
Melissa ensures the centre delivers on the requirements of the National quality Framework and helps in managing the centre budget, performance, resources and ensuring everyone is safe and happy. She also helps with enrolment enquiries, tours and orientations.
Matu Dawo
Early Childhood Teacher
Matu Dawo holds her Diploma, Bachelors and Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education and Care. Matu has been working in early childhood for over 13 years and during this time has come to hold various roles within the industry. Roles such as assisted Centre Manager, Educational Leader, and Lead Educator, mentoring others teachers and educators.
“Hello, my name is Matu. Throughout my experiences and studies I have come to understand that children are the future of tomorrow’s world and families are their first teachers whilst early childhood educators are the second teachers and the child’s environment and the roles it plays in their life is their third teacher in life.
Throughout the years I have gained and continue to broaden my knowledge in all areas of children learning and development. I have an encompassing knowledge of the Early years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards as well as continue to improve these through experiences and extensive research through theories and other early childhood topics.”
